Telemann Matthäus-Passion (1746)

We are very excited to bring Telemann’s Matthäus-Passion of 1746 to you – our foray into the wonderfully diverse world of the Baroque Passion.  The Passion story inspired Telemann to lift his pen many times throughout his life; we hope that you will discover the text anew in the raw simplicity of this setting.

It is a great pleasure and honour to be returning to a church very close to our hearts. In 2023 our Weihnachts-Oratorium project received a very warm welcome in the Mutterhaus der Barmherzigen Schwestern, Zams, and we look forward to presenting this rousing Passion in the beautiful walls of this place, and also to visiting a new church slightly further afield in Niedermünster!

You can download a copy of the programme, which includes the four-part chorales, here.
